The Creative Journey
design and Inspiration
When starting our research, we collect ideas from many different sources to create a unique and captivating collection. For us, the city of London generates a constant flow of inspiration which comes from our diverse city where our design studio is located. Travel has always played a significant role in shaping our design aesthetic, exploring new cultures and learning from people, interacting with artists and creatives from different backgrounds, opening up a world of possibilities and influences that find their way into our collections.
Architecture has also been a great source of inspiration for us. Most recently we crafted the AW24 collection around the concept of brutalist architecture, drawing inspiration from the iconic Barbican Estate and its brave architects. The sculptural forms and raw elegance of structures resonated with us, informing the overall mood of the collection.
When the initial research is underway, we begin the design work by looking at materials and forming a seasonal colour palette. We believe that the foundation of luxury lies in the quality of the natural materials used. Each season we travel to our European tanneries, mills and suppliers talking them through our ideas and research, developing new textures, exclusive colours and techniques.
Shapes and silhouettes are developed in house with our experienced pattern maker before a calico of each design is created ready for model fittings. Once we are happy with the results the pattern is sent to one of our factories who will realise the design in the final materials. The first prototype allows us to understand how the design interprets and if needed, make adjustments to fall in line with our vision.
By weaving together influences from London's dynamic energy, our experiences in travel and the close relationships with our suppliers and skilled team, a collection begins to form where designs with stories are created, reflecting the ever-evolving world around us.
